MLD FOR LABYRINTHITIS, VERTIGO & MENIERE'S DISEASE |
Labyrinthitis is inflammation of the inner ear causing vomiting, loss of balance and deafness. With all inflammations there is a build up of excess fluid and congestion within the effected tissues. Vertigo is a disabling sensation in which the affected individual feels that either he or his surroundings are in a constant movement. It is most often a spinning sensation but there may ba a feeling that the ground is tilting. It can be a symptom of a problem with the labyrinth of the inner ear. |
Meniere’s disease of the inner ear is characterized by episodes of deafness, buzzing in the ears and vertigo, (a disabling feeling of surroundings constantly moving or spinning, or the ground tilting). Typically the attacks are preceded by a sensation of fullness in the ear. Repeated attacks can cause deterioration in hearing. It is thought to be caused by the build-up of fluid in the inner ear. |
Manual Lymphatic Drainage causes the lymphatic system to work more effectively by reducing the excess fluid, alleviating the symptoms. The treatment consists of several sessions of Manual Lymphatic Drainage, with emphasis on and around the ears. |
