The Hivamat 200 is a device that delivers a patented therapy called Deep Oscillation. It is manufactured by a German company Physiomed Elektromedizin. The therapy has been around for 20 years but was only brought into the UK in March 2006.
It works by delivering gentle electrostatic pulses to a depth of 8 – 12 cm. It shakes up metabolic waste, protein build up and inflammation. It also activates the lymphatic system so the body is able to remove the waste quickly.
When used with Manual Lymphatic Drainage MLD techniques it helps to speed up the results.
When used with remedial or sports massage it can reduce pain by reducing inflammation and by stimulating the healing processes, speeding up the recovery period.
Deep Oscillation can also be used where there is chronic pain such as Fibromyalgia
